Notebook Demo :)This wiki is part of a public demo for the Student Notebook. The Student Notebook was developed by UnaMesa with the assistance of Prof. Andrew Lister (Queen's University, Canada) to provide students with a tool that allows them to have their own local copy of their class Wikispaces wiki (lecture notes and class materials) which is searchable and to which they can add their own private notes. Students gain the ability to work with class wikis even when not connected to the internet. Course instructors are able to use an Instructor's Notebook which allows them to create content for the class wiki as well as present it in the classroom, all from one tool. The content for this demo has been provided by Prof. Lister from his Introduction to Political Theory "POLS 250" at Queen's University. Cool. Please note that the terms "Student Notebook" and "Personal Course Notebook" are used interchangeably and that because of the way Wikispaces works, you will need to join this wiki in order to try the student notebook (use the link at the top of the left hand sidebar). Future plans for the project include exploring the possibility of using this technology in parts of the world without persistent internet connectivity to provide students with better access to educational materials. More details on the project and the pedagogy behind using thnnnne combination of an online class wiki and a Student Notebook, as well as reports on the experience of trialing this is Andrew's class, can be found here.
